Dr. Eades is a Medical Doctor and internationally recognized authority in low-carb nutrition. He is the author/co-author of 10 books on health, nutrition, and exercise, including the NY Times bestseller Protein Power.
Dr. Eades was born in Springfield, Missouri and educated in Missouri, Michigan, and California. He received his undergraduate degree in engineering from California State Polytechnic University and received his medical degree from the University of Arkansas. After completing his medical and post-graduate training, he and his wife, Mary Dan, founded Medi-Stat Medical Clinics, a chain of ambulatory outpatient family care clinics in central Arkansas in 1981, among the first of their kind in the country.
In 1986 Dr. Eades shifted to the full time practice of bariatric, nutritional, and metabolic medicine, gaining first hand experience treating many thousands of people suffering from high blood pressure, diabetes, elevated cholesterol and triglycerides, and obesity with the Protein Power nutritional regimen he and his wife developed.
Dr.’s Eades are authors of several books including the New York Times best seller Protein Power.
In 2001 he retired from clinical practice to devote his energies to research, writing, speaking, and since 2005, maintaining The Blog of Dr. Michael Eades, listed as a Top 100 Health Blog.
In 2009, Dr. Eades, together with his wife and their sons, founded the global company, Eades Appliance Technology, to design, manufacture, and distribute the first sous vide water oven for the home kitchen, revolutionizing the quality and simplicity of healthful eating at home. Dr. Eades has been guest nutritional expert on hundreds of radio and television shows across the country, including national segments on FOX, NBC, ABC, CBS, CNN, and MSNBC. He continues to speak at medical and scientific conferences, to the general public. He and his wife are currently at work on their 15th book, Protein Power 2.0, slated for publication in 2020.
